Superintendent, Sinoe County, Republic of Liberia
Hon. Alexander Nah Sleweon is a distinguished public health administrator and development leader with more than 15 years of experience managing government systems, leading social programs, and working with communities to improve health, livelihoods, and local governance. His career reflects a deep commitment to public service, professional integrity, and the advancement of equitable development opportunities for all Liberians.
In 2025, Hon. Sleweon was appointed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. as Superintendent of Sinoe County. His appointment reflects confidence in his proven leadership abilities, deep knowledge of community-centered development, and his reputation as a results-driven and people-focused administrator. As Superintendent, his priority is to promote investment, transparency, development, and unity across Sinoe. He is committed to leveraging the county’s natural resources, enhancing accountability in county governance, and ensuring the County Development Fund and Social Development Fund are applied effectively to drive visible and impactful development outcomes.
Hon. Sleweon brings significant experience from both national and international roles. In Liberia, he previously served as Director of the County Statistics and Information Office (CSIO) for the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) in Sinoe County. In that role, he led the county’s data management systems, supervised staff, implemented national policies at the local level, supported the conduct of multiple national censuses and surveys, and contributed to county-level planning and decision-making. His work strengthened evidence-based governance and improved coordination among government institutions and development actors.
Internationally, Hon. Sleweon worked with BEBASHI Transition to Hope in the United States, where he led major public health programs and supervised multi-disciplinary teams in service delivery, outreach, compliance, budgeting, and partnership coordination. As 340B Program Coordinator, he provided strategic leadership to a multi-million-dollar health program, collaborated with medical providers, and ensured program accountability and quality service delivery for underserved populations. His track record demonstrates strong operational leadership, policy implementation, and institutional management.
Hon. Sleweon holds a Master of Public Health (Community Health), earned with honors, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Care Administration from West Chester University in the United States.
He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Liberia, grounding his leadership in governance, social behavior, and public policy.
As Superintendent, Hon. Sleweon envisions a Sinoe that is more united, inclusive, economically active, and strategically positioned to benefit from both domestic and foreign investment. His administration will prioritize, strengthening transparency and accountability in county governance, promoting private sector investment in tourism, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and sustainable industries, supporting community ownership and participation in development decisions, ensuring that women, youth, and local businesses have opportunities to contribute and benefit and improving service delivery and public confidence in government institutions
Hon. Sleweon believes Sinoe can and must move forward by harnessing its strategic advantages, including its coastline, arable land, natural resources, and rich cultural heritage. His leadership seeks to turn these strengths into sustained development, job creation, peace, and social progress.
