Message From the Superintendent

Hon. Alexander Nah Sleweon is a distinguished public health administrator and development leader with more than 15 years of experience managing government systems, leading social programs, and working with communities to improve health, livelihoods, and local governance. His career reflects a deep commitment to public service, professional integrity, and the advancement of equitable development opportunities for all Liberians.

Our county holds strategic economic advantages. We are home to Sapo National Park, Liberia’s largest protected rainforest and one of the most biodiverse habitats in West Africa. This is not only a point of environmental pride; it is a viable gateway for ecotourism, research partnerships, and conservation-based income for local communities. Investors who share values of sustainability and cultural respect will find Sinoe to be a powerful location for responsible tourism development. Along our coastline, the Port of Greenville, also known as the Samuel Alfred Ross Port, positions Sinoe as a natural trade connector. With rehabilitation and expansion, this port can support:

  • Export of agricultural products
  • Timber and wood processing value chains
  • Fisheries and marine services
  • Storage, logistics, and coastal commerce

Sinoe’s port is one of our strongest signals to the business community: we are not isolated we are connected. Our agriculture sector remains a backbone of daily life. With fertile soil for cassava, rice, cocoa, plantain, and palm, as well as expanded interest in coconut and food crops, investors are welcome to explore:

  • Agro-processing and food packaging
  • Rice and cassava milling
  • Cocoa fermentation and grading centers
  • Oil palm and coconut industry value addition

These are practical ventures that create jobs, increase local income, and reduce reliance on imported food. We are also guiding the sustainable revitalization of the Sinoe Rubber Plantation and examining opportunities to re-establish wood processing and carpentry manufacturing, which once thrived in Greenville during the 1980s.

The skills, land, and heritage for these industries still exist here. With responsible investment, they can rise again this time more inclusive and environmentally sound.

But let me state this clearly:

We do not seek investors who take from Sinoe.

We seek partners who build with Sinoe. The County Local Government is prepared to work collaboratively with national ministries, development organizations, traditional leaders, and investors. We will help remove obstacles, support community engagement, and ensure that partnerships serve both private success and public benefit.

Our vision is simple:

A Sinoe where development is shared. A Sinoe where wealth is created locally and retained locally. A Sinoe where every young person can see a future for themselves right here at home. To all investors, partners, and friends considering where next to build, I extend a personal invitation: come to Sinoe, walk our streets, talk with our people. You will find warmth, cooperation, and opportunity.

Sinoe is ready. Sinoe is hopeful. Sinoe is open for business.

Hon. Alexander Nah Slewion
